Yes you do dream every night, I was told by a psychology professor dreams are the mind's tool for logging short term memories into your long term memory. I am not sure how to control dreams, I have noticed that in some of my dreams people or things I know from the present can be placed in the settings from the past or just the opposite, which I would believe supports the memory idea. So if you contact them a lot in the conscious state that might filter through to their subconscious and they will dream of you. I haven't heard that you can project yourself into somebody elses dreams any other way. I don't think, unless two human brains were collected by electrical wires directed at the part of the brain responsible for REM sleep, that would be possible. Even then it's debatable as to what effect that would have - if any.
