How can I make me the alpha dog in the house?
Q. Its pretty obvious my dog is the alpha of the house. He is a sheltie, and I do practicly everything for him, but he only listens when its right for him. How can I teach him that I am the alpha, not him?

A. You are putting way to much into terms that aren't true. Think about this a bit. All of this alpha stuff started with Dr. L. David Mech. He wrote about wolves NOT dogs. If you are going to apply wolf behavior to dogs, why not apply it to foxes as well? Only there's a BIG problem there. Wolves are pack animals. Foxes are NOT pack animals. Dogs fall somewhere in between. When was the last time that you saw dog packs running around? How dogs react in a pack and how they react in a family situation is totally different. Now I want to see folks start telling me how dog pack behavior somehow transfers over to human and dog relationships. We're two totally different species! For graduate Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha are you expected to know everything about everyone?
Q. I am a senior and attend a well known HBCU.I tried for Alpha Kappa Alpha, but unfortunately they didn't have a line this year. I am now focusing on the graduate chapter, but I had a few questions. Am I expected to know the same information (full names,hometowns, line-names, majors, clubs) that I had to memorize for undergrad? (basically stalking lol) One more question I thought of, are there a certain number of credit hours needed for grad school before I can be invited? Thanks!

A. Even though you have an alpha, it comes in at least three different gear ratios. So you could have a 4,6,and 8 cly engine and an Alpha drive. The "Y"pipe would be a "single for the 4 cly, where a 6 or 8 would need the "Y" shaped pipe. Also the bell housing is different. You might find it better to cash out the current boat and pick up a used boat, using the money you saved by not trying a complicated engine exchange! Best of luck!!!

Can you have an alpha cat among a cat and dog household?
Q. I am moving in with a friend who has a boxer and a poodle (both female) who are indifferent to cats. My 2 cats (one male, one female) have lived in our apartment for 7 months. Last night we brought the dogs to my apartment to test the waters before the move and the dogs were fine. The female cat held her ground with some teeth showing and growling for a little bit but then calmed down and actually looked like she was trying to get the nerve to play. However, the male cat was being very protective of his space and never fully calmed down. I am wondering if he knows he is the only male and is trying to show he is the alpha in this mix of animals? I know he was trying to protect his territory but was curious about this too. Thanks

Q. I recently had a blood protein electrophoresis performed. The alpha 2 was high. My PCP doctor does not know what this means. I don't know who to ask? Thank you.
